Luis Suarez future at Liverpool or Manchester looking obscure

Everybody is still talking about Luis Suarez’s ‘shameful’ handball against Mansfield Town in the FA Cup, they didn’t notice something else is keeping Brendan Rogers and his side busy. As it turns out, the rumors saying Suarez might not be at Liverpool come next season are true even though he signed a long-term deal earning £100,000-a-week in the summer. But can you really blame him? He’s at his peak and he needs to play at top European competitions, and by that I mean the UEFA Champions League. Rodgers might have a chance of keeping a hold of him if Liverpool made it to the top four by the end of the season; they currently sit eighth in the league seven points behind fourth placed Chelsea.

Probably one of the biggest factors repelling clubs from the Uruguayan is his price tag! Liverpool have demanded £40million-plus for the striker! Manchester City, though, might not find it difficult to splash that much for Suarez with rumors linking him to the blue side of Manchester growing larger and larger. City boss Roberto Mancini even showed interest in the player last season. And though Mancini stated: “We have a good team and we don't need to buy another player in January”, rumors grew with him almost certain to lose a striker in the transfer window. Sergio Aguero, for instance, hinted he might be on his way out of the club because of personal issues off the pitch. Another (and rather controversial) City striker Mario Balotelli is seemingly also out with his relationship with the boss being shattered by time. Mancini though, quickly dismissed such talks and stated he is "very, very happy" with his fellow Italian even after a fight erupted between the two during training at Carrington last week. However will Mancini even be at City in the summer supposing he failed to retain the Premier League title? I doubt it…

So with the Citizens seemingly the best club where Suarez can fulfill his ambitions, challenge for title and compete at the highest levels, a move to Manchester is likely. A move outside England might also be suitable for him. Juventus, for example, showed interest in the prolific attacker after failing to land a deal with Robin van Persie earlier in the summer. Other rumors also included Chelsea and even Atletico Madrid!

In March, Suarez was linked more than ever with a move away from Anfield and especially to Paris Saint Germain. when asked whether he was interested in joining PSG, he answered: “Yes, Paris or other clubs.

“There are a lot of clubs with the same renown, who want to build a good team. Paris are one of those clubs and they are recruiting players to strengthen.”

So with his future at Anfield currently unknown, the only thing Rodgers can do is secure a spot in the top four. And with 15 goals in 20 PL appearances so far for the attacker, he has been on the radar of many clubs… But do you think he will stay at the Kop? Or leave to another club elsewhere? Feel free to give your opinion.
