The 28-year-old has not played for two weeks due to his injury, but is desperate to captain his country in their must-win qualifier against Greece on Saturday. The midfielder said: 'I had a little problem with Liverpool. They didn't really want me to come to Israel.  Related ArticlesVoronin: We don't fear EnglandLiverpool captain Steven Gerrard limps off injured in friendly winYossi Benayoun injury blow for Steve McClaren Injuries hit Lyons intergalactic mission in BarcelonaYossi Benayoun demands Liverpool regain killer instinct to get back in title raceMascherano trip to Egypt angers Rafa Benitez"But as long as I know I will be able to give 100 per cent I will play, even if it means risking my health.' Liverpool's season is well and truly back on track after scoring 13 goals in their last three games, including a 4-1 away victory over champions and leaders Manchester United. But Benitez will be sweating over the fitness of his international stars as they play out qualifiers and friendlies this weekend. Benayoun remains cautious over his injury, and said: 'I've been going through intensive treatment in the last couple of weeks and I'm almost fully fit, but sometimes it's still painful.' However, he has no intention of letting Israel down. 'Missing out on Saturday's game would be the biggest disappointment of my career," he said. 'I'm feeling much better now and I hope that in a day or two I will be able to train with the team. If that happens, I will be able to play. Two weeks' absence isn't that significant."
