On the mend: Kuyt has recovered well from injury[LNB]Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has revealed Dirk Kuyt could return from injury sooner than expected and may even feature against Sunderland in the Barclays Premier League this weekend.[LNB]The 30-year-old sustained the problem on international duty just over a fortnight ago and was expected to be out of action for a month.[LNB]However, manager Hodgson believes the Dutchman could be selected in Saturday's squad to face Sunderland or in next week's Europa League trip to Kuyt's former club Utrecht.[LNB]'Dirk has trained the last couple of days,' said Hodgson. 'We're trying to protect him a little bit but he's made a remarkable recovery, so it'll be interesting to see how he progresses on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in relation to Saturday's game and the game next Thursday.[LNB]'We thought three to five weeks, so we're at the quick end of the scale.'[LNB]Although Hodgson admits that Brazilian winger Fabio Aurelio remains a fitness concern with an Achilles problem.[LNB]The Liverpool added: 'With Fabio it's a little more tricky. The sports science people are very anxious they get him 100 per cent right before they throw him back in because they don't want a situation where he's dropping out again. But he's making very good progress and if push came to shove we could use him.'[LNB] Inter boss Rafa Benitez slams former club Liverpool and says Anfield chiefs 'knew nothing about football' Daniel Agger delivers route one snub to Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson: I won't play long ball LIVERPOOL FC
