Liverpool's Andre Wisdom set for loan spell to Derby County

The talented centre back who captains the England U21’s side has struggled to stake a claim in the Liverpool first 11, with a number of new centre backs coming in during the summer.

The 20 year old who has only had a few appearances for the Reds so far this season, going out on loan to Championship side Derby County will give him much needed first team action and playing time. It can only benefit the youngster.

He certainly is one for the future. The uncompromising central defender faces competition from the likes of Martin Skrtel, Daniel Agger, Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure. So going out on loan is definitely the right option. Wisdom is set to join Derby County on loan until the end of the season.

Personally I would keep Andre has I feel he could come in and play the cup games. That is really selfish thinking as Liverpool are already out of the Capital One Cup and don’t have any European football, so his only chances to get some playing time would be in the F.A Cup, that really isn't ideal.

You could argue that he would even face competition from summer Thiago Ilori for a starting place in the cup games. With the abundance of riches Liverpool have at the back, Brendan Rodgers is doing the right thing sending the young centre back on loan. We all wish him well and I hope he comes back stronger at the end of the season.
