Alberto Aquilani's desire to return home to Italy to endhis torrid spell at Anfield looks to be hotting up as AC Milan and Fiorentina have both stated their interest in signing the Liverpool midfielder.[LNB]Aquilani spent last season on loan at Juventus and his chancesof establishing a place in the Reds starting XI are slim after Kenny Dalglish addedJordan Henderson and Charlie Adam to his midfield.[LNB]The Italian international only made 18 appearances for theclub following his ?20million switch from Roma but Fiorentina coach SinisaMihajlovic remains hopeful over the 27-year-old midfielder. [LNB] Coming or going? Aquilani's future remains in doubt[LNB]'Aquilani deal up in smoke? From now until the end of themarket there is still plenty of time, let's not lose hope,' Mihajlovic told LaRepubblica.[LNB]'The club, myself, and director of sport Pantaleo Corvinohave clear ideas and we know exactly what to do.'[LNB]Liverpool remain hopeful of recouping the majority of thefee they spent on the Italian, a desire which could be fulfilled after AC Milanstated their interest in Aquilani as a replacement for Andrea Pirlo.  [LNB]Milan vice president Adriano Galliani said this week: 'Wecould talk about Aquilani. He's a midfielder with the characteristics that weare looking for so, like with other players in his role, he could be ofinterest.' [LNB]The 27-year-old's agent, Franco Zavaglia, believes Liverpool could be prepared to sell for as little as ?8.7m, despite having paid Roma a ?20m for his services two years ago.[LNB] Plenty to ponder: Dalglish has bolstered Liverpool's midfield this summer[LNB]Zavaglia also confirmed that he expects to speak with representatives from Milan aftertheir Super Cup clash against Inter in Beijing on Saturday.[LNB]'When you speak of such a negotiation, there is always an element of truth,' he told ilsussidiario.net.[LNB]'Galliani is now in China for the Italian Super Cup, but I expect to talk to him when he comes back to Milan.[LNB]'I think an agreement could be reached for a figure around €10m (?8.7m).'[LNB]But Zavaglia is aware Aquilani's future remains in his club's hands, he added: 'Aquilaniis still tied to a three-year contract with Liverpool and before his eventual departure we will talk with the leadership of Liverpool.[LNB]'It seems clear to me that the player doesn't fall into the technical plans of the coach, so the suggestion of his departure is concrete.'[LNB] [LNB] CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR FREE FANTASY FOOTBALL GAMEKuyt confident Liverpool are ready for Premier League despite poor pre-seasonHenry demands Liverpool boss Dalglish seals top four finish All the latest Liverpool news, features and opinion[LNB]
