Liverpool fans look away now as Owen trains with Rooney and Co

It was the day football fans thought they would never see. Michael Owen, once the darling of Liverpool's Kop, in a Manchester United training kit alongside Ryan Giggs, Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand and Co. The England striker, wearing No 15, looked to have settled in quickly as he enjoyed a laugh with his new team-mates at a breezy Carrington following his arrival on a free transfer. Over in Spain, in the baking sunshine of Madrid's Valdebebas training ground, former United idol Cristiano Ronaldo was centre of attention as the £80million world record signing limbered up next to £30m striker Karim Benzema, Raul and another former Red, Ruud van Nistelrooy. Madrid travel to Ireland on Monday for a training camp and friendly against Shamrock Rovers.
