Liverpool defender Glen Johnson admits season so far like a bad joke

Johnson was signed by Benítez in the summer for £18 million and, despite a promising start to his Anfield career on a personal level, has endured along with the team in a run of a single victory in the last nine games. However, the former Chelsea and Portsmouth defender, who was forced last night to withdraw from England's international friendly with Brazil in Doha on Saturday, believes the current squad and management can turn things around.  Related ArticlesJohnson out of England squadLiverpool unfit in body and mindLiverpool have 'mental block'How do we stop diving?Zabaleta: Liverpool feeling the pressure'If someone had told you at the start of the season that we'd win one in nine, you'd have laughed your head off,' said Johnson. 'Rafa's done a fantastic job here and will continue to do so. 'A couple of bad results does not make him a bad manager or us a bad squad. "To say that his job is on the line is ridiculous. 'Nobody expects Liverpool to lose games one after another. But that's the nature of playing for a huge club. The spotlight is on you all the time.'
