Liverpool boss Benitez raids non-league for Rushden Diamonds teenager

Liverpool have signed teenage striker Aaron King from Rushden & Diamonds. King, 16, impressed during a recent trial period with the Anfield giants and has now signed a two-year scholarship agreement. 'We are all absolutely thrilled for Aaron - this is a brilliant achievement for everyone involved in his development throughout the five years that he has been with us,' said Rushden's head of youth development Paul Driver. Liverpool winger Sebastian Leto, who spent last season on loan at Greek champions Olympiakos, says he is '90 per cent' certain he will play at Panathinaikos next season. 'I am very close to [joining] Panathinaikos,' said Leto. 'There are negotiations between Panathinaikos and Liverpool and as far as I know the two sides are very close to a deal. I think that the possibilities of playing at Panathinaikos next season are more than 90 per cent. 'I have been waiting for something from Olympiacos all these weeks but they haven't made a move for me so far. 'It's not a matter of money. I wanted to stay at Olympiacos but since they don't want to sign me I have to think about my future.' Meanwhile, Liverpool's backroom revolution will continue with England physio Dave Galley returning to Anfield from Wigan. Boss Rafa Benitez cleared out 16 members of staff at the end of last season, including Academy coaches, physios, masseurs and a kit man. Galley, who was Liverpool's physio when Gerard Houllier suffered his heart problems on the touchline before leaving to work for Bolton and Wigan, will return to head the academy's medical department. He is currently in Sweden with England Under-21s but is in line for a promotion to assist Gary Lewin in the senior squad next season.
