Liverpool youngster Stephen Darby happy to stay on at Notts County

YOUNG Liverpool defender Stephen Darby has revealed his desire to extend his loan stay at Notts County beyond its current January deadline.[LNB]The 22-year-old has impressed since joining the League One outfit last month, starting every game since his arrival, and says he is enjoying his spell at Meadow Lane under the management of former Reds midfielder Paul Ince.[LNB]'It couldn't have gone any better for me since I came here,' said Darby.[LNB]'I have come in, got my head down and worked hard to earn the right to play and fortunately I've started every game.[LNB] 'I didn't expect to. All I expected was the chance to fight for a place like everyone else at the club.[LNB]'It shows the manager has got faith in me, which is nice.[LNB]'The competition here is fierce, everyone wants to play. I know I have got to keep playing well to stay in the team.'
