Liverpool v Tottenham - Match Preview

28 July 2012 09:42
Liverpool complete their short North American tour with a game against Premier League rivals Tottenham in Baltimore, USA, on Saturday evening. Both sides will field strong line ups in a bid to gain early momentum as the new season approaches. Liverpool have yet to win under new manager Brendan Rodgers and will be hoping to show Spurs that they can compete with them in the fight for Champions League qualification in the forthcoming Premier League season.

Andre Villas-Boas will field his strongest available line up, which means that Gareth Bale is likely to start again. The Welshman had pulled out of the TeamGB squad for the London Games with a back injury, but controversially recovered in time to go on his club's pre-season tour and even scored in the 1-1 draw against LA Galaxy. The North Londoners head to New York for the final match of their tour where a meeting with the Red Bulls will see them up against their old Arsenal nemesis Thierry Henry.
