Kelly dreaming of Wembley final

Liverpool defender Martin Kelly hopes the FA Cup will allow him the chance to realise a childhood dream and win the final at Wembley.

In recent weeks cup competitions have represented the England Under-21 international's best chance of first-team action, with starts in the last two rounds of the FA Cup.

And so he heads into Sunday's visit of npower Championship side Brighton hoping for more pitch time in order to help the team to a second final of the season, having already booked a Wembley appearance against Cardiff in the Carling Cup.

"Growing up as a kid, you ask any kid, the FA Cup is massive and everyone wants to get to the final and win it," he said.

"It's got such a tradition and I think the FA Cup is fantastic. "For a young player like myself it's fantastic to play in and we would love to go all the way in the competition this year.

I remember watching Liverpool win the FA Cup on the television and we would love to win it again.

"It was brilliant to play in the last round against Manchester United and it was a fantastic day. It's every lad's dream growing up to play against your rivals and try and put on a good display."

Maxi Rodriguez could make his return to the Liverpool team. Midfielder Rodriguez has not featured since the fourth-round victory over Manchester United at the end of January due to a foot problem, but should be fit for selection.

Reds manager Kenny Dalglish has indicated that young defenders Jon Flanagan and Jack Robinson may come into his thinking for the tie.

Seagulls boss Gus Poyet accepts his players need to produce the perfect performance to trouble the Reds.

Brighton were rewarded for upsetting Barclays Premier League side Newcastle at the Amex Stadium last month with a trip to Merseyside in the FA Cup fifth round.

It will be the second time this season that Brighton have come head-to-head with Dalglish's side after goals from Craig Bellamy and Steven Gerrard sent Poyet's side crashing out of the Carling Cup in September.

Poyet appreciates the uphill task that faces his players at Anfield but has urged them to play without fear.

"The players know what they need to do in order to be competitive because we have already played them this season," the Seagulls boss told the club's official website.

"They know how they need to defend, they know how strong Liverpool are and they also know their quality in movement, speed and technical ability.

"We need to be at our best to have any chance. We know that we have no pressure at all but, at the same time, we really respect Liverpool.

It will be a great experience and very unique for a few players who might never get this opportunity again."
