Liverpool transfers depend on Champions League football

Jurgen Klopp admits that qualification for the Champions League is crucial for Liverpool to be able to sign quality players in the summer.

Liverpool go into their final two games of the season, against West Ham and Middlesbrough, holding onto third spot in the Premier League, but with Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal breathing down their necks. Any slip up could result in them dropping out of the top four and missing out on Europe's big money tournament.

“The players we are talking to are good players and I know they have offers from other clubs," he said.

“It’s important for the club. Everyone knows there is a lot of money in the Champions League. It’s really exciting to be there and also there’s the money that you can earn and use as a football club.

“The transfer talks we’ve had have been very positive so far but that doesn’t mean that they will always work out. We have to give everything and then we will see if we can convince the player.”
