Liverpool told to improve Van Bommel offer

Set to leave: Mark van Bommel's contract with German champions Bayern Munich runs out this summer - but if the right bid is made he could move in the January window[LNB] Mark van Bommel's agent has warned Liverpool they stand to lose out on the Dutch midfielder if they don't improve their offer, with bids from AC Milan and VfL Wolfsburg currently looking more appealing.[LNB]The Bayern Munich skipper, who also captained his country to the World Cup Final last summer, is out of contract in the summer and unlikely to renew his contract with the reigning Bundesliga champions, who signed him in 2006.[LNB]And while Liverpool have made an enquiry for the midfield hardman, who turns 34 in April, agent Mino Raiola has said that there are currently more attractive offers on the table.[LNB]Van Bommel, who won the Champions League in 2006 when he was atBarcelona, could leave this month should the right offer come in, andRaiola revealed there is competition for his signature.[LNB]'I know about Liverpool's interest, but other offers are currently more interesting,' he told Germany's Bild newspaper.[LNB]'I cannot guarantee 100 per cent that he will stay (with Bayern),but there is no rush with negotiations - I just have to do a good job.[LNB]'I have got to find Mark the perfect club and we still have enough time for that.'[LNB]Van Bommel joined Bayern Munich four years ago and became their captain when Oliver Kahn retired in 2008.[LNB] Orange future? Van Bommel celebrates with Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt, but he will not be joining his international team-mate at Anfield as things stand[LNB] However, following the arrival of Luiz Gustavo from Hoffenheimearlier this month, there is more competition for his place at theheart of the midfield and he has hinted that he could be on his wayout.[LNB]'You never know what the future brings,' Van Bommel, who has 66 caps for Holland, said.[LNB] 'I am concentrating on Bayern while my agent takes care of all the rest.'[LNB]Van Bommel began his career with Dutch club Fortuna Sittard before moving to PSV Eindhoven in 1999.
