Dempsey, recently rejected a new contract offer from Fulham and has entered the final 12 months of his existing deal. Liverpool were hoping to land him on the cheap and were hopeful their initial offer of £5 million would be sufficient, Fulham though are insistent that their valuation is met and the Merseysiders have agreed to meet the asking price.
With a fee between the two clubs now agreed, Dempsey is expected to arrive in Liverpool in the next few days to complete the formalities ahead of his switch.
FSG have stated on their website that Dempsey has joined Liverpool although the video package that accompanies the story states that Rogers is still working on the deal.
