Valencias Spanish international Roberto Soldado is the subject of interest of Tottenham Hotspur, and now Liverpool.

Plying his trade as a forward the 28 year old appeared in last months Confederations Cup for his native Spain, scoring in the 2-1 win against Uruguay.

Valencia rate their man at around £26 million, a fee which would break Spurs previous record transfer fee. Though they now face stiff competition from Liverpool, as Brendan Rodgers side prepare to lose Luis Suarez.

Andre Villas Boas is clearly an admirer and confirmed Soldado is close on their radar: "Roberto is one of the players we have been following and his career speaks for itself. He's a great striker.'' the Spurs boss said.

However reports say Liverpool could hijack the bid for the in-demand Spaniard, a move however would depend on a quickfire sale of Luis Suarez.

Tottenham are 2/5 favorites to aquire the Valencia star with Liverpool still at odds of 3/1.
