Liverpool target Italian goal machine

Liverpool could be ready to dip into Serie A to solve their striker problem with Fiorentina striker Giuseppe Rossi atop of the wish list according to the Mirror.

Since his move to Serie A last summer the Italian has netted 16 goals & 4 assists in 21 games and it is reported that the 27-year-old is available for around £20m.

After bagging himself an impressive 82 goals and 26 assists in 192 games for Villarreal and seemingly ever growing in confidence a move for the Italian could seem like a good bit of business, barring any more injuries.

Last season Rossi has a higher shot accuracy than his potential partner in Sturridge (54%) with 63% although his goal tally shows that Sturridge a more varied ability as the Italian bagged 12 on his stronger left foot & his total of zero headed goals isn't a surprise given he is only 5ft 8".

Rossi has already suffered 3 serious knee injuries during his career, but if his injury plagued days are behind him the Reds could land themselves a ready-made goal machine to partner Daniel Sturridge in Liverpool’s continued evolution under Brendan Rodgers.

Rossi came through the ranks at Manchester United and found success at both Parma and Villarreal before a move back to Italy.
