Ronaldo had dominated the Premier League for the last three seasons, scoring a hatful of goals to help United win three consecutive league titles. But following his £80 million switch to the Bernabeu, there is now a vacant position for the star of the Premier League, which Torres is keen to fill. Torres, who has scored 50 goals in 84 games for Liverpool, said: "Of course, my ambition is to be seen in that same way as Cristiano Ronaldo was seen at Manchester United." And Torres insists the only way to do this is by Liverpool going one better than their second-place finish last year and finally toppling Manchester United. "First we have to win trophies. I know only then will people be able to speak the same way about Liverpool and me as they have done (about) Ronaldo and United." The Spaniard is under no illusions about the challenge that awaits the Merseysiders, who have never won the Premier League, but believes that this could finally be their year. "We're excited because we think this can be the year for Liverpool. But we know how difficult it's going to be," he added
