Gerrard is out with a hamstring injury sustained in Liverpool's FA Cup fourth-round replay against Everton earlier this month. [LNB]The injury could force the England international to miss the first leg of Liverpool's Champions League last 16 tie against Real Madrid.[LNB]However, Torres wants the club to err on the side of caution, such is Gerrard's value to the side. [LNB]"Stevie doesn't have a substitute at Liverpool. It's his name first on the teamsheet then 10 others," Torres said. "Stevie's the lad every great side has - our leader, the one-man club. [LNB]"But I know from experience hamstring problems are risky. If you get one there's nothing you can do but let it repair."[LNB]Gerrard's injury prevented him from going head-to-head with his Liverpool team-mate in midweek. [LNB]Torres was part of the Spain side which inflicted a 2-0 loss on Fabio Capello's England side in an international friendly at Seville - a match Gerard Pique said was "all so easy" for the European Champions. [LNB]The former Manchester United defender, who was making his international debut, said: "I felt so comfortable throughout the whole match and it was all so easy. [LNB]"It's great to play in such a good team, we always have so much time in defence. [LNB]"We dominated the ball and attacked well with David Villa scoring and then the late goal too."[LNB]
