Mavinga, 18, can also play in the centre of defence and has represented his country at U18 level. El Zhar, 22, is the latest Liverpool player to sign a new deal and he has committed himself to Anfield until 2012. The Moroccan international joined Liverpool from Saint Etienne in Oct 2006 and made 19 appearances for the first team last season. His only goal for the club came in a 2-1 Carling Cup victory over Cardiff in 2007. Meanwhile, Udinese have confirmed they are in negotiations with Real Madrid for the transfer of Gaetano D'Agostino - news which should please Rafa Benitez. The 27-year-old midfielder is a target of Real, and the deal could be completed next week as they appear to have given up on securing Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso. "I confirm that they (Real) are interested," said Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo. "My son was set to meet them yesterday but he was unable to so we postponed everything until next week. "The buy-out clause of the player remains the same, €25 million, but there's always room to reason. "There are players they have that could interest us. It's an open negotiation."
