Liverpool set to spend Sterling cash on Bundesliga superstar

Liverpool won't be stashing any of Raheem Sterling's £49million transfer fee away as they look to bring in an immediate replacement in the form of Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus, rated at £46million.

Reports from various media outlets over the weekend, including the Telegraph, suggested that Liverpool were moving in for Dortmund's star man, with Rodgers looking to minimise the impact of Sterling's heavily publicised departure.

After receiving a huge fee of £49million – the most ever for an English player – Liverpool have money to burn and are looking to bring in a truly top class player.

Reus has long been linked with a move to the Reds and now may be the perfect time for Liverpool to attempt to get their man, armed with a huge wedge of cash, courtesy of want away Raheem Sterling.

Sceptics will point to the fact that Reus recently signed a new deal at Dortmund, but this is football, and in football you never say never.
