Brendan Rodgers side have already been extremely active this summer, bringing in James Milner, Danny Ings and Roberto Firmino amongst others. And now the club look set to sign another new player in the form of Southampton's right-back Nathaniel Clyne, after the Reds upped their bid for the England international to a reported £12.5million.
The Express report that an initial fee of £10.5million will be paid to Southampton, which that amount rising to £12.5million with add ons and extras.
The 24-year-old was a target of Premier League rivals Manchester United, before the player switched agents, seemingly putting the brakes on any potential move to Old Trafford.
It's likely Clyne won't be the last player through the doors at Anfield during this summer transfer window, with the club targeting Inter Milan's highly rated Mateo Kovacic and Premier League proven striker Christian Benteke, with the latter set to snub any new contract offers from Aston Villa.
