Liverpool ready to raid Chelsea yet again?

Liverpool could be set to raid Chelsea again as they look for a new left back in the wake of Jose Enrique's injury and subsequent surgery.

The man in Brendan Rodgers' sights is former Chelsea academy graduate Ryan Bertrand according to the telegraph.

The England international is a versatile left-sided player and would fit the mould of an FSG signing as he's relatively young with a high potential re-sale value and can play in a variety of positions.

The fact he can play as a left-back but push up the field and play as a left midfielder or left winger would surely appeal to Rodgers as he has used Enrique and Glen Johnson as wing backs at various times throughout this season.

Chelsea spurned Liverpool's advances for the defender in July, with the 24-year-old setting his sights on increased first-team opportunities at Stamford Bridge.

But since the summer Bertrand has struggled to land first team opportunities as Chelsea boss Mourinho favouring César Azpilicueta on the left side of his back line.

Bertrand only signed a new five-year deal in September and therefore Chelsea could demand around £8 million for the defender.
