Liverpool owner John W Henry desperate to end title drought

[LNB]New Liverpool owner John W Henry has admitted that he just has one major aim - to bring the Premier League title to Anfield.[LNB]Liverpool's last success was in 1990, and in the 21 years since bitter rivals Manchester United have won an amazing 11 Premier League crowns.[LNB]But Henry wants to end the misery, despite the recent sale of star striker Fernando Torres to Chelsea. Henry and the Fenway Group bought the club from American pair George Gillett and Tom Hicks earlier this season.[LNB] Pointing the way back to the good times? Liverpool owner John W Henry[LNB]And he said: 'We have a unique skill-set at Fenway, and it is perfectly suited to breaking what they call curses. We had an 86-year drought at Boston for winning a World Series.[LNB]'We did that, and we have a 20-year drought for winning the first division at Liverpool. Liverpool has never won a Premier League.[LNB]'There was a very strong feeling amongst us that we were uniquely qualified to break the 'curse'. Even though we didn't know the sport, we knew the sports business and knew what it takes to put together a sports organisation.'[LNB] It really was a long time ago... Liverpool's last title success came back in 1990[LNB]Liverpool did taste European glory in 2005, with victory over AC Milan in the Champions League final. But it's the domestic title they crave at Anfield, particularly with United matching the Merseysiders and their 18 league successes.[LNB]Henry added: 'It gives me goosebumps to think we could deliver a Premier League title to Liverpool - it's what we are there for, we have no other agenda than that.'[LNB] ?50m for Torres?
