Liverpool are yet to begin formal discussions with Kenny Dalglish over the full-time manager's position at Anfield, despite the Scot's impressive start to his second spell in charge.[LNB]Reports had claimed that Dalglish has been offered a two-year contract but owner John Henry insists talks are in the very early stages.[LNB]Since replacing Roy Hodgson in January on a short-term contract, Dalglish has steadied the ship at Anfield and recorded impressive victories over Chelsea and Manchester United.[LNB] Silence is golden: Henry (left) claims talks are yet to begin with Dalglish[LNB] That has led to increased calls for the club legend to be handed the reigns on a permanent basis.[LNB]But Henry and club chairman Tom Werner appear resistant to making a swift decision.[LNB]'The only discussion we've had has been with Kenny and that was solely concerning when we should begin discussions,' Henry told the Daily Telegraph. [LNB]'I wouldn't anticipate any further comments until such discussions have commenced and we have something to announce. Any reports until then are purely speculation.'[LNB]Although Dalglish would have the backing of the fans and players were he to be given the job, Henry and Werner appear determined to take a measured approach to such a crucial appointment.[LNB]There remains the possibility that the club's owners could opt for a young European manager to complement the appointment of Damien Comolli as director of football strategy.[LNB] Flying high: Dalglish guided Liverpool to a stunning win over Manchester United[LNB]Jurgen Klopp of Borussia Dortmund, Porto's Andre Villas-Boas and Didier Deschamps of Marseille were all mentioned in connection with the Anfield hotseat before Dalglish took charge.[LNB]The Scot's success since being recruited as a fire-fighter has changed the dynamic, however. [LNB]He would expect to make the big decisions, as he did during his previous spell, and would not take kindly to any interference from Comolli.[LNB]If Liverpool continue to climb the table under Dalglish's stewardship, and advance in the Europa League, he will remain favourite for the post.[LNB]  Liverpool defender Skrtel happy to avoid ?35m Anfield team-mate CarrollSick chants, three arrests and four red cards ruin FA Youth Cup clashFerguson fury as United boss launches scathing attack on Liverpool boss Dalglish All the latest Liverpool news, features and opinion [LNB]  Explore more:People: Kenny Dalglish, Roy Hodgson Places: Liverpool
