Liverpool must improve, insists Alonso in desperate title rally cry

Hitting back: Xabi Alonso has urged his Liverpool team-mates to react positively to growing criticism over their attempts to prise the Premier League title Criticism is growing and doubts are increasing about whether Liverpool can sustain a title challenge, having not won the championship for 19 years. However, Alonso believes the players can work through their problems and get their campaign back on track. 'The performance (against Everton) was better than Monday. We controlled the game much better. 'Of course we are not happy with the mistake we made (conceding the goal) but it was better.
