Liverpool move for Swansea star Miguel Michu

Reports on footylatest are suggesting that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will make turn to former club Swansea in an audacious big to bring in man of the moment Miguel Michu.

The former Rayo Vallecano striker has been prolific for Swansea since his muted arrival in the summer and has already netted 13 goals in 18 appearances for the club. The front man leads the Premier League scoring charts, ahead of Robin van Persie, Luis Suarez and Demba Ba.

Swansea manager Michael Laudrup now faces a tough battle to keep his prize asset in Wales during the January transfer window. The Danish manager has put a £30 million price tag on the players head to ward off interested clubs. But it is thought a more realistic bid of around £10 million would be enough to bring the striker to Anfield.

Rodgers was interested in bringing in Chelsea's Daniel Sturridge but his excessive wage demands has become an obstacle and has since turned to Michu.

Liverpool's owners FSG have promised their manager the funds needed to push for a top four position and it looks as if a deal for Michu could materialise due to Rodgers relationship with his old club.
