With all the speculation currently surrounding Luis Suarez which I'm currently staying away from there has been some encouraging news floating around the web, specifically coming from the pages of the Liverpool Echo as it appears that the Reds have been in contact for with Spanish outfit Barcelona to register their interest with Chile star Alexis Sanchez.

The forward has been in sizzling form during the World Cup notching up both a goal and an assist during Chile's 3-1 against Australia and proving a constant menace against the Spanish defence as his team run out 2-0 winners.

Various media outlets in Italy including Tuttosport claim that Juventus are pushing hard to seal a move for the forward, whereas Chilean journalist Rodrigo Norambuena has explained that Sanchez would like to move to England and would even prefer the Premier League to Serie A.

If Liverpool could seal a move for Sanchez it would send out a stern warning to all their rivals that all the hard work Brendan Rodgers, his staff and his players have put in is paying off and they're here to stay.

Sanchez is valued around 30million and the former Udinese man is surely going to be chased by every club around Europe after his displays at the World Cup.
