Liverpool make 20m plus Suso bid for Moreno

Liverpool hope to kick start a busy summer of spending in preparation for their return to the Champions League and according to Marca have made a €20m offer, plus the transfer of Suso, to Sevilla to sign Alberto Moreno.

The Spanish newspaper claim that the reds are trying to get ahead of the competition and hope to take full advantage of Real Madrid going cold over a potential deal.

According to the Spanish media, up until a few weeks ago Moreno was destined to move to Real Madrid with everything in place for a move to happen.

Seemingly the Real Madrid have had a change of heart and with Fabio Coentrao starting the Champions League final and his form during the latter half of the season, the Portuguese international is now in line to be offered a new contract.

With Real Madrid also have Marcelo in their ranks, they obviously would have little need for Moreno (let’s face it Moreno wouldn't want to be third choice LB, even at a club like Real Madrid).

Liverpool are hoping to pounce and snap up the Spaniard but Moreno does have a hefty (€30m) buyout clause in his current contact, but the reds are looking to get a discount on that by sending Suso to Sevilla (whether that’s permanently or on loan is unknown - conflicting reports).

Local Sevilla newspaper Estadio Deportivo are also reporting the Liverpool bid.
