Liverpool lose out as target signs new deal

Liverpool's hopes of luring Adam Johnson from Manchester City have ended, after it the 24-year-old winger signed a new five-year-deal at the club.

"If he were not a good player, I wouldn’t waste my time on him," said manager Roberto Mancini. "But, because he has everything, I don’t want him stopping at this level."
