Liverpool just aren't scary any more, taunts Fiorentina striker Mutu

Adrian Mutu says Fiorentina are such a big club that beating Liverpool in the Champions League would be no be dig deal. And the former Chelsea striker insists his Italian side don't need any special strategy to handle hot shots Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard. Home advantage gives the Romania international belief that Fiorentina will triumph in the Group E clash. 'Once upon a time, beating Liverpool would be a famous win and you could make a fuss, but no more,' Mutu told The Sun. 'Since I have been in Florence, the team, the club and the whole environment have grown to the point where we can now beat anyone in our stadium. 'I am sure we will not make special plans for Fernando Torres or Steven Gerrard, that is not our style.' The 30-year-old's memory of his single season in England is not a happy one. Mutu is still fighting a £14.7million compensation order after being sacked by Chelsea for failing a drugs test in 2004. 'My time in England was not easy,' he said. 'I was young and I had a lot of troubles. But I'm a better player now, more mature and much stronger physically.'
