The Spaniard, who netted 17 times for Liverpool last term, is adamant his club has what it takes to mount a genuine challenge to be crowned champions next May, but insists he and his team mates have to prove themselves worthy from the outset. [LNB]"We have no problem beating Manchester United or Chelsea, but it is games like Sunday's at Tottenham where we need to show our real title intentions," Torres told the Sun. We need to turn draws into wins at places like White Hart Lane. If we can win these sorts of games two or three times a season, that will be enough for the title. [LNB]"I am not thinking we can win the title - I am thinking we have to win the title. We came so close last year but for many of the players it was their first time experiencing the pressure of a Premier League title race. [LNB]"We don't need to improve a lot on last season to win, there is only a slight improvement needed to give the fans and players the title they have wanted for so many years. [LNB]"This is the best Liverpool team there has been in years - that is what many of the experienced players are saying. Now is our time - second best is just not going to cut it with me anymore."[LNB]Meanwhile, Anfield's latest arrival Alberto Aquilani has said he hopes to learn as much as he can from team mate Steven Gerrard, who he rates as "the strongest midfielder in the world". [LNB]The 26-year-old, who arrived from Roma last week, may have to wait for his debut next to the England international, who is a doubt for Liverpool's opener against Tottenham in Sunday's late kick-off. [LNB]Gerrard missed England's midweek friendly against Holland with a groin injury while Aquilani himself remains a doubt with an ankle injury. [LNB]Nonetheless the Italian is spurred on by the prospect of partnering Gerrard in midfield. [LNB]"Even before coming to Liverpool, I thought Steven Gerrard was the strongest midfielder in the world," he said. "I will be very proud to play alongside him and hope I can learn from his game. [LNB]"I am looking forward to playing in the same team with players of that kind. [LNB]"Liverpool have had good players for a number of years and I have always liked their system of play." [LNB]
