Liverpool Football Club's Premiership chances

This season we have all had the pleasure of watching Liverpool's irresistible brand of football on show under the new, seemingly carefully constructed regime of Brendan Rogers.

Liverpool have seemingly spent well and wisely in the transfer market this summer bringing in names such as Victor Moses from Chelsea on loan, Kolo Toure on a free, Iago Aspas and Sakho to name just a few, joining the already brilliant Daniel Sturridge in the Liverpool ranks.

Liverpool, in past premiership seasons under Benitez have always looked a real threat but have always been one signing short of overtaking Manchester United and Chelsea in the race for the coveted and painfully elusive premiership crown.

However, this year so far Liverpool have got what they haven’t had in a long time, a team that is getting the job done when it matters. Not just beating the big teams but the smaller ones as well.

Suarez and Sturridge have formed a lethal combination already and backed up by a still going strong Gerrard, aided by a dazzling Victor Moses, a real young promising starlet in Raheem Sterling and a resurgent Jordan Henderson, all of whom are individually willing to provide the new SAS with the much needed firepower to make a real go of chasing the premiership crown this season.

But great teams all start from the back and Liverpool have a strong goalkeeper in Simon Mignolet providing cover in the sticks and who is growing with confidence with each game.

With experienced Kolo Toure, new signing Sakho, a still to return Glen Johnson and a always tough Skrtel and Agger protecting the goal, Liverpool fans can be quietly optimistic of reaching the summit of English football for the first time in over 20 years.
