HAT-TRICK hero Yossi Benayoun is happy to be Mr Versatile if it helps him secure a starting spot at Liverpool. The Israeli has been competing for the left wing role so far this season but he got his chance on the right against Burnley on Saturday. Benayoun responded with a match-winning performance in the 4-0 rout and he is now eyeing an extended run in the side. "I'm delighted and getting a hat-trick made it a lovely day for me," he said. "From my first day here I have said that if I get opportunities I want to take them and prove I deserve to play. "Everyone wants to play all the time. I don't know anyone who is happy to sit on the bench but at a club like Liverpool that can happen because there are so many good players. "I had a few ups and downs in the first two years here but I think I proved in the last five months of last season I can play better and better when I have confidence. "Whenever I'm on the pitch, even if it's just for 10 or 20 minutes, I try to do my best. "Playing on the right against Burnley wasn't a problem for me. I've played there a lot during my four years in England and I was just happy to play." Benayoun opened the scoring before the break and went on to complete his hat-trick in the second half with two goals in front of the Kop.
