LIVERPOOL FC were today set to discover the date of the most critical court case in their history.[LNB]The hearing to determine whether New England Sports Ventures' (NESV) proposed £300m takeover of the Reds can be completed could start as early as tomorrow.[LNB]Current owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett are hoping to block the sale.[LNB]If that happens there is a risk Liverpool could go into administration and suffer a nine-point deduction.[LNB] But Liverpool managing director Christian Purslow remained confident the takeover will go ahead.[LNB]He said: 'My focus this week is making sure a tremendous sale completes.[LNB]'I am not even contemplating administration and no-one should be.[LNB]'We have done our homework and NESV are buying this business with cash and clearing our debt which transforms our financial position overnight.[LNB]'My total priority was to try and remove the debt which was put on this club and which has been a cloud since February 2007.[LNB]'It has drained our resources and we would all like that cloud over the club to be lifted.'
