Dirk Kuyt 300[LNB]DIRK KUYT today claimed a fruitful summer in the transfer market will provide Liverpool with the ammunition to instantly reclaim their Champions League status.[LNB]The Reds' forward - who, along with team-mate Ryan Babel, has been selected for Holland's World Cup squad - is anxious to put the disappointments of the season just gone behind him as quick as possible.[LNB]But while he readily accepts that Rafa Benitez's side under-achieved, he does not believe major surgery is required during the coming months for Liverpool to re-establish themselves in the Premier League's higher echelon.[LNB]So long as Liverpool can hang on to Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard, Kuyt is confident that the right players will arrive on Merseyside before August to make a difference in the new campaign.[LNB]'If we can buy a few more players, I think we will be really close to winning trophies again,' said Kuyt.[LNB]'There were times this season when we didn't play well and conceded last minute goals but we were also really unlucky, when you think of the beach ball and the injuries we had.[LNB]'Fernando was a huge miss in particular. Last season, it was the opposite and we were the ones scoring the last minute goals. Everything was going our way then.[LNB]'We just need a little bit more luck and a bit more quality in the team. Everyone knows that. In the meantime, everyone who is here needs to work really hard to improve.'
