Skrtel 300[LNB]MARTIN SKRTEL has warned his Liverpool team-mates they must be more ruthless in front of goal if they are going to climb the Premier League table.[LNB]The Reds paid the price for a string of missed chances in Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Tottenham.[LNB]Having produced a much-improved away performance, the defender - who enjoyed an eventful afternoon on a personal level - admits Roy Hodgson's 10th-placed side were left devastated by Aaron Lennon's injury-time strike, having seen Maxi Rodriguez and Fernando Torres fail to convert glorious opportunities of their own with the score at 1-0.[LNB]'Losing that game was very difficult to take,' Skrtel said.[LNB] 'In the first half we did really well and controlled the game. We scored one and created a few more chances.[LNB]'In the second half we let them get back in it and to concede again right at the end was so disappointing.[LNB]'It came down to us missing our chances. If you don't score goals you don't win games. We have to improve.'[LNB]Skrtel ended his year-long goal drought when he poked home the opener just before the break. It was only the Slovakian's second strike for the Reds in 99 appearances - and his first since scoring against Manchester City at Anfield in November of last year.[LNB]However, his joy soon turned to agony as his 65th minute own goal enabled Spurs to get back on level terms.
