Anfield 300[LNB]AT a time of year when most managers are bemoaning the hefty demands being placed on their players, the only danger facing Liverpool recently has been frost bite.[LNB]The postponement of their last two Premier League games against Fulham and Blackpool means it's been two and a half weeks since most of Roy Hodgson's side kicked a ball in anger.[LNB]The enforced break has allowed Steven Gerrard and Daniel Agger to regain full fitness and give Hodgson plenty of options going into a pivotal period of the campaign.[LNB]But it has also seen Liverpool slip further down the table and that needs to be swiftly addressed.[LNB] With the big freeze having belatedly let up, Liverpool will finally return to action against lowly Wolves at Anfield tonight.[LNB]It will be the final chapter in a year supporters will be glad to see the back of.[LNB]Racked by instability and boardroom unrest in the closing months of last season, Liverpool slumped to a dismal seventh place.[LNB]Their lowest finish since 1999 led to a parting of the ways with Rafa Benitez and embarking on a new era under Hodgson hasn't provided a quick fix.[LNB]The £300million takeover by New England Sports Ventures (now Fenway Sports Group) gives hope of better days to come in 2011 and striker David Ngog shares that optimism.[LNB]However, the Frenchman, who is set to be offered a new deal at Anfield, hasn't given up on 2010 just yet and is determined to help ensure a tough year ends on a high.[LNB]'We want to reward our fans by finishing the year with a victory,' he said.[LNB]'We are always confident when we play at Anfield, especially with our crowd who are always pushing us to victory.[LNB]'I really think 2011 will be better for the club. It should be better with all the work we are doing with the coach. We are all working to get Liverpool back to the top.'
