Liverpool FC fans warn club bankers - 'Protest could come to your doorstep'[LNB]A LIVERPOOL FC fans group today warned the club's bankers and potential buyers that thousands of supporters could turn up on their doorstep to protest.[LNB]The threat was made after around 2,000 Reds fans marched from the Liverpool Supporters Club to the Kop in a show of strength against American co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett.[LNB] Numbers had risen to between 5,000 and 7,000 as the march reached Anfield.[LNB] It was organised ahead of Liverpool's dismal on-pitch performance against Blackpool.[LNB]They lost 2-1 to the Premier League newcomers to fall to 18th, a result likely to further fan the flames of anger directed at Mr Hicks and Mr Gillett.[LNB]The two men are facing a deadline this month to repay a £237m loan to their bank RBS.[LNB]If they fail to raise the funds or agree a re-financing deal, the club will cease to be theirs.[LNB]But supporters group Spirit Of Shankly (SoS), which organised yesterday's rally, want part ownership to pass to the fans.[LNB]It is hoping to heap pressure on the bank and any other potential buyers to consider giving supporters a stake.[LNB]SoS spokesman James McKenna told the ECHO: 'We will be continuing to protest up until the last day. We want to step up the campaign. We will protest at LFC matches, but also at the banks and everyone involved in any sale.[LNB]'Unless they listen to us, we will take action to them.
