Liverpool FC fans react as Roy Hodgson's side hit 57-year low

30 December 2010 11:24
Liverpool FC fans commented in their hundreds on the Daily Post and ECHO websites after last night's defeat to Wolves.[LNB]The 1-0 loss at Anfield has left the Reds on just 22 points going into New Year - their lowest total at this stage of the season for 57 years.[LNB]Most views returned to the same theme: LFC manager Roy Hodgson.[LNB]gosportred said: "Liverpool fans are renowned for being fair minded, sporting, knowledgeable and patient. The patience has worn out now - this is as bad if not worse than the last days of Souness."neilywheely outlined another possible role for Roy Hodgson - working with Kenny Dalglish: "If Roy told me where to stand and how to play, I'd have respect and give 100%. But if Dalglish took my hand and did the same, something else would happen... I'd be mortified if I let him down... I'd run beyond my last breath. I'd want to win for him more than for me.[LNB] "Roy would make a solid number two for Dalglish... he gets fringe players to play better. He is a good solid coach, but not an inspiring leader. I wish Roy the best, but I want Kenny... NOW."[LNB]supadave said: "The only concern I have with sacking Roy is - who do we replace him with? I hope this is being looked into by NESV and they find someone who can take the club forward. I fear they won't make a change until the summer."[LNB]Zedcells said: "Negative fans are not to blame so much as the negative tactics, negative performances and negative results."[LNB]aldostash said: "He shouldn't be sacked. If he had even an ounce of self-respect or dignity he'd do the honourable thing and hold his hands up and say he's not cut out for the job.[LNB]"You can't do the job without support from the terraces and Roy will never get that. He can't even command support from the players let alone the fans. He's breaking hearts staying in the job any longer."[LNB]road_ender81 had mixed feelings about the situation: "I agree with everyone's comments regarding Roy's tactics and I do think he is out of his depth. But I do also agree with Roy when he said the negativity from the crowd is not helping anybody.[LNB]"It has never been the Liverpool Way to howl off and mock a player the way Paul Konchesky was when subbed last night. It's not gonna do the lad any favours. We need to support the team in the ground, slag them off in the ale house, on the phone-ins and forums, but for those 90 mins let's try and make a difference the way the Spion Kop always have."More fan reaction on next page >>>>>>
