STEVEN GERRARD is having a bad season, and quite obviously his body language is not giving out the right message.[LNB]In many games this season he has not shown those great leadership qualities that we know he has.[LNB]On Sunday, it was Jamie Carragher who prevented Javier Mascherano from talking his way into the referee's book, and it was Carragher who waded in when Darren Fletcher stamped on Dirk Kuyt's foot and along with Daniel Agger and Lucas they stood their ground against the usual rush of United players.[LNB]Gerrard was nowhere to be seen, and this has been the case many times this season.[LNB]To help relieve Stevie of pressure I think the manager should give the armband to Carragher.[LNB]Shanks did ŠitŠ with TommyŠSmith when he gave the captaincy to Emlyn Hughes and it re-motivated everyone.[LNB]It will need a miracle to finish fourth now, but with Carragher as leader maybe Stevie can find his legs; this is how far we have fallen under Benitez, and the likelihood is that we will finish seventh, maybe eighth.[LNB]Time for a change of manager, of that there is no doubt.[LNB]Len[LNB]AFTER Liverpool's latest defeat on Sunday to Manchester United, surely it is time to replace Rafa Benitez at the end of the season, along with his backroom staff.[LNB]Benitez can make all the excuses he likes - the Americans, the media, Ferguson, Wenger.[LNB]The facts are that after bringing in 78 players in the last six years, we have only about four players who can step up to the mark - a damning indictment of his tenure.[LNB]In any business, which it now is, the failures would have long since been eradicated. The Americans don't pick the team, and I always thought that a coach's job was to train and develop.[LNB]Barry Bruce, Widnes
