Liverpool FC fans letters

ALL this talk about 'confidence' is doing my head in. If I was playing for Liverpool, earning shed-loads and as fit as a butcher's dog, confidence is not something I would be lacking.[LNB]The reason some of our players are lacking confidence is because they are not good enough to wear the shirt.[LNB]For Lucas to come out and say that he will help Aquilani is some kind of nightmarish joke.[LNB]I just wish Lucas would leave. What are doing with him? Come back Igor Biscan all is forgiven![LNB]Delaney, via email[LNB]WE are so bad now that we get the graveyard shift on Match of the Day.[LNB]Our manager quotes stats: no goals conceded, more confidence![LNB]At a time when we are celebrating Bill Shankly's 50th Anniversary at arriving at Anfield, a saying of his springs to mind: 'First is first, second is nowhere?'[LNB]Well where does that leave us now.[LNB]At the moment it's seventh and counting. Boring football, playing to avoid a defeat, not playing to win. Players who lack passion and no style.[LNB]I have 44 years of supporting and watching Liverpool FC, never have I witnessed such performances and seen such an inept Liverpool team.[LNB]John Singleton, Huyton[LNB]THE club should give Rafa until the end of the season.[LNB]We are playing awful football and I am confused and frustrated with subs, Aquilani not getting time on the pitch, no cover for Nando as well as being out of the Champions League, the Premier League title race, the Mickey Mouse Cup, playing two defensive midfielders against very average sides.[LNB]That said, we must stick by the manager for the time being and see if he can rescue this desperately sinking ship.[LNB]Davey Young, Norris Green
