Liverpool FC fans letters: Reds change of tactics so refreshing to see

IT WAS my seven-year-old son's first trip to Anfield on Sunday for the match against Sunderland.[LNB]As it was his first game I was hoping and praying that we would not lose and maybe nick a win; that is how much my confidence in the team beating teams like Sunderland has dropped this season.[LNB]But what a great match, and a great result![LNB]My son left Anfield feeling 10 feet high.[LNB]His hero, Fernando Torres, had scored two great goals and he was there to see it.[LNB]And not only that, the team - especially in the first-half - played like they were enjoying themselves, with purpose, speed and skill.[LNB]What a refreshing change! For my son's first game, it was a cracker. Long may it continue![LNB]UlsterRedcap[LNB]ANOTHER solid result for the Reds against Sunderland on Sunday. But the last two home Premier League games have appeared to show a different approach from this Liverpool team.[LNB]This new approach seems to me to be a bit like the old 'pass and move' Liverpool teams of old.[LNB]Does anyone else think that Rafa Benitez is opening up to advice from his staff, in particular, Sammy Lee?[LNB]When Sammy took over at Bolton he tried to change their style of play straight away to a free flowing pass and move mentality.[LNB]Liverpool look like they are going to implement this style against the lesser teams and then revert back to Rafa's two defensive midfielder approach against the top teams.[LNB]This new attacking, free-flowing style seems to make sense.[LNB]mbnickson
