Liverpool FC fans’ forum - Reds are now a second tier club
The Shankly Gates at Anfield 300[LNB]WE need so many players, goodness only knows where to start. There are also a fair few number of players that need to be got rid of but probably won't be shifted until suitable replacements are found - a vicious cycle.[LNB]The thing is we are well and truly a second tier club and I cannot see what decent players are going to want to come to us.[LNB]Also, if we are in the market for really good players we might want to look over our shoulder because almost every manager will be going to their chairman asking for cash.[LNB]This season is a write-off.[LNB]stevieg4ever[LNB]YES, it's been a poor season so far but that's what I expected with the squad Rafa Benitez so kindly left us with.[LNB]I give Roy Hodgson until the end of the season then make the big decision - stay or sack.[LNB]We need a manager who will bring in some proven quality and some pace on the wings and some away wins.[LNB]We need a manager on the up - a new Shanks![LNB]RPC[LNB]DAVID NGOG has improved significantly this season.[LNB]I appreciate he's nothing more than a squad player at the moment, but I think we should stick with him for another season or so to see how he develops.[LNB]He definitely has the potential.[LNB]Liam8and8[LNB]I DON'T like this 'it's going to take us years to get back to the top' line - it smacks of defeatism.[LNB]Just two years ago we were challenging for the Premier League; now, apparently, we must no longer have one of the best strikers in the world or one of the best midfielders or one of the best goalkeepers![LNB]We have a decent squad, we just need some quality additions, but most of all a manager with some fire in his belly who isn't afraid to go at the opposition and chance losing.[LNB]We need a manager with a positive outlook that will then rub off on the players.[LNB]Great managers get extraordinary things out of ordinary players.[LNB]Keep telling people we are years away from being a top team and the players aren't good enough and pretty soon they will all start believing it.[LNB]ARROWSMITH
