Liverpool FC boss Kenny Dalglish appoints Steve Clarke as new first team coach

Steve Clarke [LNB]STEVE CLARKE has been officially confirmed as new Liverpool first team coach.[LNB]The former Chelsea assistant boss will work alongside Kenny Dalglish as part of the new-look Reds backroom staff.[LNB]Today, Dalglish said: 'Steve is a great addition to our backroom team and I'm delighted we've been able to bring him into the club.[LNB]'I am looking forward to working with Steve alongside Sammy and our other technical staff.'[LNB] He will be at Melwood to help prepare the Reds for their crucial visit to Blackpool on Wednesday night.[LNB]The appointment is likely to hearten fans who will see Clarke as a sensible appointment with plenty of football know-how.[LNB]One person who has left the club is Mike Kelly, who followed Roy Hodgson from Fulham to Anfield during the summer to become part of his coaching staff.[LNB]But since Hodgson's departure on Saturday, Kelly has also now officially departed for pastures new.
