Liverpool fans won't stand for Benitez's horror show at Wigan, says Jewell

[LNB]Paul Jewell expects Liverpool fans to turn on manager Rafa Benitez following the 1-0 defeat at Wigan.[LNB]The Anfield faithful have been behind Benitez despite a disappointing season but Jewell, the former Wigan manager who was a youth player with the Reds, does not think their patience will last much longer.[LNB]The result leaves Benitez's side in sixth place in the table, a point behind Tottenham and Manchester City having played more games than their closest rivals for a Champions League place.[LNB] Stunned: Hugo Rodallega scores the only goal to stun Liverpool on Monday[LNB]Jewell said: 'The fans have closed ranks in the past but they won't put up with that.  [LNB] 'There are ways to lose and last night was no way to lose. [LNB]'As a team Liverpool are a million miles from being as good as the club.'   [LNB]Jewell believes the team has never recovered fully from the loss of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid last summer.   [LNB]He added: 'Steven Gerrard was gutted when Alonso was sold to Madrid. He knows he's a better player with Alonso in the team.
