The 29-year-old England international has agreed terms and will make the move to Anfield subject to a medical when his contract expires at the end of the month.
It’s an important move for Liverpool, who desperately needed an experienced man in midfield to replace departing skipper Steven Gerrard.
Liverpool fans were, by and large, delighted with their new signing.
