Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard was named in the starting line-up for the last time at Anfield as he prepared to say farewell to home fans against Crystal Palace.
Two changes from the draw at Chelsea saw Alberto Moreno and Jordon Ibe return for Glen Johnson and Rickie Lambert.
The visitors made six changes, with Wayne Hennessey replacing Julian Speroni in goal.
