Liverpool continue to delay Daniel Agger contract talks

Agger, who has attracted interest from AC Milan and Real Madrid, has been told by manager Rafa Benitez that he is central to Liverpool's long-term plans.[LNB]However, the Denmark international is growing increasingly annoyed that talks over a new deal have yet to progress beyond an initial meeting in November.[LNB]According to the Times[LNB], the precise reason for the delay is unclear, but with just 18 months left to run on Agger's contract, Benitez will need to act swiftly to ward off the attentions of Milan.[LNB]Agger said: "I haven't heard anything from the club since the beginning of November. We have only had one meeting with Liverpool.[LNB]"At that meeting at the start of November, I was told that the club would come back to me quickly, but that hasn't happened.[LNB]"Now there have been 12 weeks since we spoke together.[LNB]"I don't have a clue if they want to extend this contract. It is an annoying situation and, in principle, it is a little bit frustrating not to get any messages, especially when it has almost been three months and they were the ones who told me they wanted to come back quickly."[LNB]Agger is not the only player whose contract will expire at the end of next season. Dirk Kuyt, Alvaro Arbeloa and Emiliano Insua will all be free agents if new deals are not agreed soon.[LNB]
