Roy Hodgson is convinced Fernando Torres and Pepe Reina will not 'insult' Liverpool fans by demanding to quit Anfield, and has reminded his players they have a responsibility to help the club out of their current slump.[LNB]Hodgson received the backing of new owner John W Henry who issued a statement on Friday insisting he has no intention of selling off his best players.[LNB] Frustration: Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina has endured a tough start to the season[LNB]Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City are among theclubsinterested in Liverpool's Spain stars, who are still unsettled by the club's recent problems. But Hodgson said: 'Torres and Reina are trainingvery well and if they are unhappy and wanting to get away they are making a damn good job of disguising it.[LNB]'They are great favourites here and I can't imagine for one minute they would insult Liverpool fans in any way by suggesting, 'We are unhappy, and we are only here forthe good times'.[LNB]'Players have to recognise their  responsibilities when playing for Liverpool.[LNB]'Both of them I'm sure are as committed as I am to getting us high upthe table.[LNB]Don't look back in anger: Torres has appeared a forlorn figure during Liverpool's recent woes[LNB]'They are not the type of characters who would kick off halfway through a season but, yes, the takeover provides the stability to remove any fears over their positions.'[LNB]Hodgson welcomed Henry's statement as well as the prospect of the Americans being hands-on owners, and promised not to use their money to load any more dead wood on to Liverpool's playing staff in the January transfer window.[LNB]The former Fulham boss added: 'They have spent an awful lot of money to buy this club, and we are expecting them to invest a lot more. It would be absolute folly if they weren't to back that up with wanting to know the whys and wherefores.[LNB]'Even at Fulham, Mohamed Al Fayed took a very active role. He never suggested who we should buy what he normally did was allow us to buy them and then criticise us for them! But, as I have explained to the owners, January is often a market for clubs trying to move on players they don't want. I don't want to be taking peoples' leftovers.[LNB]'We've got those type of players ourselves. If we are going to improve we need better.'[LNB] Hodgson leading Miller race as Gills starlet closes in on Liverpool moveAre you for Real, Roy?
