Rafael Benitez has dismissed suggestions Liverpool will land £20m-rated Valencia midfielder David Silva in the summer. Liverpool's chief scout Eduardo Macia was understood to have held talks with Valencia recently to discuss potential offers for Silva, David Villa and Raul Albiol. Debt-ridden Valencia were thought to have made it clear they had to sell and were open to deals including Liverpool squad players. No sale: Valencia midfielder David Silva will not be joining Liverpool in the summer But Liverpool boss Benitez has ruled out a move for the 23-year-old and told Liverpoolfc.tv: 'We will not be signing him.' However the Spaniard insists the club is looking at identifying potential targets for next season. He added: 'We are working hard, talking with the scouting departmentand looking at names and options for next season. It's still too soon, but we are working hard.'  Liverpool trail Barclays Premier League leaders Manchester United byjust one point - although Sir Alex Ferguson's men have a game in hand -but Benitez  is urging Reds' fans to be patient as the title race reaches its conclusion. I'm not buying:  Rafael Benitez 'Football can change very quickly and that is why we say it is important to just take one game at a time,' he added.  'Everything can change each week and maybe next week we can be at the top again. 'My message to the fans is to keep calm. I can see the people have alot of confidence at the moment and that is good. We have to staypositive and see what happens.'  Liverpool ace Alonso cranks up pressure on Fergie by insisting it is United's title to loseHicks set to follow Gillett in selling US stakes as Liverpool power battle drags onLIVERPOOL FC
